People who are advising me on this blog have suggested that I need a statement of purpose and objectives. They are right. The purpose of the blog is to WAKE UP THE CHURCH. I will try to do that by laying out a very high level flyover of the end times; to teach the basics. The objectives are to get Christians to study the scriptures regarding the time of the end and to use this information (and more) to reach out to their unbelieving family and friends.
Although everyone is welcome to read and learn from this blog, I am addressing it to Christians; to The Church. I am making the presumption that readers know their way around the Bible; that they know how to find certain passages; that they know how to cross reference other verses tied to the particular verse they’re reading. If your home does not have a concordance (a very large book that lists every word in the Bible making it easy to locate a particular passage) I would highly recommend you buy one. They aren’t cheap but they are THE most valuable tool for studying scripture. While I will note the main Bible passages to reference and to study, it isn’t practical for me to list all Bible references and other sources, thus the need for a concordance. There will be a few occasions when I give my personal opinion; I will always tell you when that is the case. Every blog I post will say the same thing: Do not automatically accept or reject what’s said but check it out. Look it up in scripture.
I am a Watchman on the Wall. My purpose in writing this blog is to help wake up the church; to tell you that Jesus is coming. Soon. Historically, watchmen stood on the ramparts of a walled city looking in the distance for trouble. They were trained to know whether the cloud of dust they spotted on the horizon was just a natural occurrence or if that dust was made by approaching enemies. Once they discerned the truth of the matter then, in case of danger, their job was to loudly sound the alarm; to ring the bell (thus the name of this blog). For about 45 years God has trained me for this time. He has trained me (and others) through in-depth study of His scriptures and their correlation to current events. It’s today’s watchmen’s job to know when His time is drawing very near. Whether people will listen or not, we are obligated to sound the warning when danger approaches. It’s approaching.
I am so very angry at the willfully blind church, especially the leaders. I am so pissed (and no, this blog will absolutely not bow to the world’s god of political correctness) that for years the church’s Watchmen on the Wall (and I personally believe that God has made sure that every one of His churches has at least one watchman) have been ignored, treated with condescension, even vilified. And now, here we are. God has used a serious disease, a teeny, tiny virus to cripple mighty man, to get our attention, to bring us to our knees. Hopefully. What I’ve read lately tells me that many Christians don’t have even the basic biblical understanding of the end times to know the difference between warning signs, birth pains, the Apocalypse, the end times, the tribulation, the Day of the Lord. They do not know what the hell is going on. And yes, I use the word hell deliberately for that is exactly what’s happening. God is permitting Satan to start rolling out the events of the times of the end.
You are the only person who can determine what it is that God wants you, personally, to do in these uncertain times. I cannot advise you. God has given the church a HUGE opening in which to preach the gospel. People are afraid and will, most likely, become more afraid in the future. Fear drives people to God and makes them more willing to hear the Truth. Some of my advisors have told me not to scare people. I will not deliberately do so, but neither will I down play God’s plan for the end times; He didn’t mince words. Jack Kinsella, a well respected prophecy scholar who died a few years back, puts it well, “Here’s what we know – and we know it for sure. There’s lots to be scared of. But nothing to be worried about. Because He is able. And He loves you more that you know.”
Next time let’s look a little bit at “Prophecy”. What it is. Why it’s important. Why so little attention is paid to it. What it has to do with us.
Please, neither offhandedly accept nor reject what is said in this blog. Check it out. Look it up for yourself in the Bible. If you are a child of God you are in good hands and there is the most wonderful eternity waiting for you. If you are not a Christ follower, now is a really good time to honestly explore the truth claims of the Bible.
