Last time we talked about fake news as discussed in The Social Dilemma. I want to spend some blogs on propaganda and the lies we’re facing so I thought this would be a good place to drop this in. Frequently I am asked where I go for my information. Because my job is to be a Watchman on the Wall, I spend many hours, Monday through Friday (it’s a job, after all) reading general news and Biblical prophecy news. I check almost all of the sites listed below on a daily basis. I “scan” the headlines and only click on an item if it is a new subject or if it adds new information or a different take on a topic I am already familiar with or doesn’t make sense as written. I know this list is intimidating – it is even to me when I see it like this – but take what you want from it. You could do a “print screen” and save it for future reference.

https://www.reuters.com/ worldwide News feed that other news sites use as a source; obviously respected since it’s been around since 1851
https://www.google.com/ this site on my phone is valuable for a general, cultural perspective and quick, voice-activate lookup
https://www.bloomberg.com/ financially-based information allowing only a certain number of free articles but cited often on other sites
https://asia.nikkei.com/ mostly financially-based information covering Asian countries
www.zerohedge.com its declared mission includes to liberate oppressed knowledge, to provide analysis uninhibited by political constraint, to facilitate information’s unending quest for freedom; requires some skepticism and fact checking
https://www.aljazeera.com/ HQ in Qatar with offices in the US, this covers broader worldwide news and includes interesting editorials from an Arab perspective
https://www.bbc.com/news HQ in the UK and covering much of the world news as well as popular culture; clicking on the News icon delivers a drop down box with lots of options for regional international news
https://www.arabnews.com/ news from Saudi Arabia and covering other Arab and Mideast countries
https://www.debka.com/ news from Israel often military and politically focused
https://www.watch.org/ White House and World News that usually has less than ten articles relating to politics
http://www.drudgereport.com/ tends towards sensationalism, good for seeing what the current culture focuses on
https://www.raptureready.com includes headlines and abstracts of subject matter; although I read it daily, I’ve learned it’s not always accurate and sometimes more like wishful thinking
http://www.trackingbibleprophecy.org/birthpangs.php headlines mostly focused on the Mideast but with a section on natural disasters

The written emailed version is my “go to” site when I have no time for anything else
https://www.hallindsey.com/ Hal Lindsey, the author of The Late, Great Planet Earth in 1969 opened my eyes to God’s Prophetic Word and how it relates to the times we’re living in. He has a weekly email update you can subscribe to and hosts a weekly radio and video program. I am in awe of God letting this grand old scholar still be able to reach out to the Church and bring light into the darkness.

“Knowledge” = facts, information and skills acquired by a person through education or experience. Next time we start looking at propaganda and with the elections pending, we have no shortage of material!
Please, neither off-handedly accept nor reject what is said in this blog. Check it out. Look it up for yourself in the Bible. If you are a child of God, you are in good hands and there is the most wonderful eternity waiting for you. If you are not a Christ follower, now is a really good time to honestly explore the truth claims of the Bible.
