We are not going to simply wake up one fine morning to discover that some people we’ve never heard of – the antichrist, the false prophet and the great dragon – are streaming live on all our devices, declaring the One World Government to be a done deal. The entire planet’s population is informed that these guys run the world, (Rev 13:7) they make the rules and they eliminate everyone who violates those rules (Rev13:15) BTW, they have total, absolute control over your ability to have a job, get paid or buy anything. (Rev 13:17)
The antichrist will be someone we’re familiar with. He’ll most likely look just like you and me but with more expensive clothes and a better haircut. He will have come to the world’s attention in multiple capacities over some period of time. It seems he can accomplish great things; solve big problems; bring peace to the earth and make people safe. What a guy!! We will have watched his rise to power with wonder and worry.
The false prophet will be dressed in whatever “robes” he deems appropriate to his elevated status. Prior to the big announcement, he, too, will have gained notoriety for things he’s done and said. He will be dedicated to bringing harmony to the world through inclusion and acceptance. What’s not to like about that?!! He will already be promoting an ecumenical agenda, reaching out to groups based on the belief that everyone’s god is the same. We will not suddenly discover that talking or writing about Jesus Christ is branded as a hate crime and outlawed, (Rev 13:7) instead, we are experiencing increased societal and political pressure and persecution against Christianity and other religions. We are currently moving towards worshipping a, “we’re all in this together” god.
The great dragon will not show up wearing long red underwear and carrying a pitchfork confronting mankind as Satan. In fact, he won’t “show up” at all, he’ll be invisible to most people. Always has been. But the great dragon of Revelation is the ultimate puppet master. He manipulates the antichrist and false prophet into accomplishing his goals, and his ultimate goal is to be worshipped by humans and angels. He has had a plan to make this objective happen since before the Garden of Eden and he has been working the plan for millennium. He and his demons have been gradually luring mankind into a trap by constantly dangling something new and shiny in front of us. Now he’s tightening the screws. He’ll eventually show his true, loathsome self (The Lie; the absence of Truth) before the Second Coming of Jesus.
The players in this unholy trinity plus the ten kings of the earth (Dan 7:24-25; Rev 13:1-2; Rev 17:12) will soon become familiar to us; at least, they better be by the time they show their hand. (2Thes 2) But for them and their trap to be familiar to us we need to learn to recognize the players in this game, one that’s being played for our eternal souls. Who’s trying to run the world? How is the world being prepared to accept them? How will we protect ourselves against them? Can we protect ourselves against them? Are the horrors of the great Tribulation avoidable? Can God’s program for the end times be changed? Who will lead us through this? How do we warn others?
Yet we are not left defenseless during the end times, for the Holy Trinity (Rev 1) plus ten thousand times ten thousand angels (Rev 5:11) will be working full time to help the Church, and to wake man up before it’s too late, before the offer of redemption has been withdrawn and before the door to Heaven has been permanently closed. We are told that in those days, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams and your young men will see visions.” (Joel 2:28)
We need to improve our ability to recognize the voices of both trinities; the Lies of the unholy trinity and the Truths of the Holy Trinity. Whether we think it’s boring or not, we need to start listening to and/or reading the news with a discerning mind. We need to learn just how to discern media propaganda messages and its attempt to manipulate people to reach and act upon pre-determined conclusions.
I have an idea. Not sure how this will go. But what if we practice our discernment skills through following an emerging subject: the Covid-19 vaccine? Next blog will talk more about this idea.
