Red Heifers Bring The Third Temple Ever Closer

Something pretty important happened a couple of weeks ago. Five red heifers were flown from ranches in Texas to Israel.

Why is that important? Since it is necessary for there to be a Temple in Jerusalem during the Tribulation (Revelation 11) it is, therefore, also necessary to have a red heifer.

According to Numbers Chapter 19, the ashes of a red heifer are required for purification rites held in the Jewish Temple. Currently there is no Jewish Temple, but plans for building what’s known as the Third Temple . (First Temple BC950-586; Second Temple 516BC – 70AD) have been in the works for a number of years. The architectural blueprint and a to-scale model of the future Temple are completed and available for public viewing. Rumor has it that some of the huge building blocks needed in the construction are pre-cut and stored in the tunnels beneath the Temple Mount.

Many of the requirements for priests serving in the temple have been completed. For example, several years ago the Temple Institute asked young Jewish men whose last name was Cohen to register with them, believing that the priestly line of Aaron became today’s family name of Cohen. Many men did register and some also volunteered to be trained in the priestly duties.

The gold vessels and Temple implements are already made as are the garments required for the priests; they are also available for public viewing.

About two years ago an Israeli farmer notified the Institute that he is recreating an ancient variety of grapes in the Hebron Valley where they were originally discovered by King David. The vinter found ancient grape seeds next to the Temple Mount and has been carefully cultivating them. These specific types of grapes are needed to make the wine used in Temple ceremonies. The Institute already has its own wheat field for the properly grown wheat also used in Temple ceremonies.

The existence of a red heifer has always been a stumbling block. Red heifers must have absolutely no blemishes and no more than one white hair; they can never have been milked, bred or put under a yoke. There have been a couple possible candidates in the past few years but at the required two years of age one problem or another has always surfaced disqualifying each of them in turn.

The fact, that today there isn’t just one red heifer but five possible candidates is pretty amazing and it increases the chances that at least one of them will be certifiable. The five that arrived from Texas are between eight and twelve months so time will tell if any of them make it to the two year old certification date.

You can be sure that this must be a pretty big deal when the terrorist group Hamas is throwing a hissy fit. It “warns red heifers signal a new stage in the ‘Judaization of the mosques’ on Temple Mount; calls for violence”. Israel 365 News, Sept. 30, 2022.
