This blog has been very silent for quite a while. It’s not that there aren’t plenty of things to talk about as we get closer and closer to the Tribulation and Jesus’ Second Coming, but frankly, I didn’t have much motivation. The church I attend had their women’s retreat the first weekend in February and I went with the specific intention of asking for prayer regarding whether or not God wanted me to resume writing the blog and, if yes, may I be motivated to do so. The prayer over me was that I would be filled by the Holy Spirit and on fire for my role as Watchman on the Wall. Also, I was given the passage from Psalm 92:12-15 that talks about bearing fruit even in old age. (I turn 80 on my next birthday)
Two mornings after the retreat I was lying in bed with my sleep mask still on. I was talking to God and considering the prayer team’s words when it hit me, God uses a lot of people well into their old age. Abraham was over one hundred before he finished his work; Moses was too. Isaiah was in his seventies before he finished warning Israel; Jeremiah was 80; John wrote Revelation when in his nineties. I got very excited and thought, “Of course I need to keep warning the Church!” Then I took my sleep mask off and my line of sight is right out the patio doors and into the woods. The sun was just coming up and the sky was brilliant. It looked like pillars of fire between the trees. I had my answer and I had my motivation. We serve an Awesome God!
As I write this, the world is holding its breath. (Interestingly, these were the very first words out the NBC News commentator a couple hours after I wrote this.)
Will or won’t Russia invade Ukraine? Will the United States take on Russia if they do? Will China go back to threatening Taiwan? Will they continue tightening their One Belt One Road Initiative noose around smaller countries? Will North Korea test fire even more very advanced missiles towards their neighbors? Is Iran about finished making a nuclear bomb? Who will they use it on? Will Turkey, Iran, China and Russia continue to draw closer and closer together? Is the United States’ time as leader of the world over or will we step up to the plate?
Will the mid-eastern terrorist groups, Hamas and Hezbollah, escalate their attacks against Israel? Will the world continue to believe, despite all evidence to the contrary, that Israel is the bad guy and that the “poor” Palestinians are helpless victims of Israel’s aggression? Will God continue to protect Israel as he has in every attack against them?
Will the powers behind the spread of the Wuhan virus and the vaccines continue wreaking havoc on the world’s people, populations and economies? Will these powers succeed in their efforts to stifle free speech and prevent people from gathering in groups? Will the US government continue to borrow trillions of dollars to advance the administration’s agenda? Will the attacks on Christianity escalate until it’s labeled a hate crime? Will inflation spiral more and more people into poverty? Will we willingly continue to give up our freedoms in return for the illusion of peace and safety?
Will fluid gender identity continue to be crammed down our throats? Will parents keep losing their rights over their children? Will corporations and organizations continue to cave on the demands of minority populations? Will the “silent majority” stay silent? Will the violence in the streets escalate?
Does any of this matter?
Is does indeed.
The answers to these questions and many others are all found in the Bible. The prophets of old were directed by God to write of future events, both of Israel in pre-Messiah times and of the “latter days”, especially of the Tribulation period. Nothing is happening today that wasn’t pointed out as coming down the road. Nothing is happening that is catching God by surprise.
The problem is, events are catching the Church by surprise. They shouldn’t be. The Church has to wake up and heed the warnings. About the only thing I can think of that should catch the Church by surprise is the Rapture; we are not told when that will happen. Things are getting bad and people are becoming more and more frightened. Thus, many more people will be open to hearing the message of the gospel. Is the Church prepared?
So this blog will continue matching events of today with the words and warnings from God.
When I was praying about this blog, God kept saying to me that Jesus is coming back. Very Soon. I get a definite sense of urgency.
Please, neither offhandedly accept nor reject what is said in this blog. Check it out. Look it up for yourself in the Bible. If you are a child of God, you are in good hands and there is the most wonderful eternity waiting for you. If you are not a Christ follower, now is a really good time to honestly explore the truth claims of the Bible.
Bravo Diane. Love the thought inspiring message!!! So thankful God answered your prayers and you are writing again Such needed information!!! I will continue to pray for you as you seek Him for clarity in your writings and message to the church.
