It seems these days that every time you read the news there’s yet another article that points to prophecy fulfillment capabilities; “locusts” are no exception.
In Revelation chapter 9, John writes about the judgement that falls on mankind when the fifth trumpet is sounded: locusts come out of the abyss and for five months sting all those who do not have the seal of the Holy Spirit. How can that be? These are obviously not ordinary locusts for John says that they didn’t harm any vegetation, which is the primary thing locusts normally go after.
In 2017 the US Department of the Navy announced that they had produced unmanned swarming drones; the project was code-named LOCUST (Low Cost Unmanned Swarming Technology). A few days later ISIS announced that they could do it too, and oh, by the way, they had figured out how to weaponize them. I remember being very excited when I read that. Talk about prophecy fulfillment!
But, I wondered, where will they get enough of them to go global? And how would they know who to sting and who to leave alone?
Within the past few weeks two more advancements were made toward prophecy fulfillment regarding locusts. DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) announced a project called AMASS that could produce thousands of unmanned drones all swarming together.
A few days later Israel’s Sagol School of Neuroscience announced it had been able to give the sense of smell to robots (which is basically all that a drone is) by attaching locust antennae to the robot. Apparently locusts have an acute sense of smell through their antennae.
So, if either the mark of the Beast (antichrist) or the seal of the Holy Spirit has, in some way, an odor connected with it then these swarming drones with their ability to distinguish the difference in smells should have no problem selecting to sting just those people who have taken the mark of the Beast.
And yet again our All-Knowing God has told us the end from the beginning. The Book of Revelation is revealing its secrets with every passing week. We are getting so close to the beginning of the Tribulation. I hope you and your family are ready. And be sure you talk to the unsaved.
